Win a TCL 55R617 4K/UHD Roku TV with Dolby Vision!

You could win a TCL 55R617 4K/UHD HDR Roku TV with Dolby Vision, so what are you waiting for? Enter today!

-----

In just a few short years, TCL has established itself as one of the top value leaders in the TV marketplace. And no wonder—the company's LCD flat panels offer an extensive suite of advanced features and excellent performance at rock-bottom prices.

Of particular interest to AVS Forum members is the 2018 6-Series. Like almost all TVs sold today, the 6-Series offers 4K/UHD resolution. But unlike many LCD TVs—even more expensive ones—the 6-Series provides FALD (full-array local-dimming) backlighting. This results in better screen uniformity and contrast than the edgelighting used in many other models. Even better, the 6-Series available in 55" and 65" models can display high dynamic-range content in the HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats, providing greater flexibility than most TVs in its class.

As if that weren't enough, the 6-Series models are Roku TVs. Roku is one of the top providers of streaming content, with more apps than just about any other platform. With Roku onboard, there's no need for an external streaming receiver, which simplifies setup tremendously.

We've already seen what the 2018 6-Series can do, and we're seriously impressed; see Mark Henninger's review of the 65" 65R617 here. If you're in the market for a new TV, you could buy one—or you might get one for free! AVS Forum and TCL are giving away a 55R617 55" 4K/UHD Roku TV with Dolby Vision (retail value $649.99).

To enter, all you have to do is provide some basic contact info here—no payment or purchase of any kind is necessary to enter or win. You don't even have to be a member of AVS, though joining is also free and easy, and doing so lets you participate in over a million conversations about all things audio and video.

ENTER HERE

The contest period starts at 10 a.m. (EST) on May 14, 2018, and one entry will be selected at random around the end of June, 2018.

So, what are you waiting for? Go to the sweepstakes entry form, fill it out, and cross your fingers. Who knows? You could find a TCL 55R617 4K/UHD Roku TV with Dolby Vision delivered to your door!

55P605 vs 55R615

????

And the contest is for the 55R617? Where do I get that one? How do the 3 differ?

new model year or something? Which one is newer?

Denon 4300 receiver. Infinity speaker setup (SM line which is SM-122 up front an SM-82 in the rear and ceiling) along with a center channel (not SM line but maybe I should swap it out). Xbox One S source for Blu Ray and 4K blu Ray. Sony XBR850B.

P605 = last year's model

R615 = No voice on remote, IR instead of RF
R617 = Full Roku remote

615 and 617 have the same panel. 615 is a cheaper model for Best Buy.

Hi folks,

The US eligibility reason is simple and twofold; ease of shipping and that sweepstakes R&Rs can differ by country.
I'm in Canada too, eh.
Best of luck to all who enter!

Anyone care to share how this TCL will factor into their home and viewing if won?

In for sure! Thank you AVS/TCL!

What excellent timing... We just bought a new house, and haven't gotten around to mounting the old TV on the wall yet. Fingers crossed I can just mount a new one instead!

"The Winner will be announced publicly on coursebook.co.uk and will be contacted directly by a representative of the Sponsor via private message on coursebook.co.uk"

I assume that's pasted from an old contest and I'll... err... the winner will be contacted via email. The monkey didn't ask for username, just real name.

I always wonder if saying "no" on the "do you want to be on our product update mailing list" question will hurt your chances.

Opting in or not to receive more information does not impact your odds of winning in any way.

The winner will be contacted by email. Guests and members can enter so all entries may not have a username to PM.

Thank you for pointing out the flaw in the R&Rs, I will ask Marketing to change that for future sweepstakes.

Best of luck to everyone that enters!

Paranoid?!

From the R&R:

8. CONDITIONS:By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules, Terms and Conditions and that Sponsor has the irrevocable right to use in perpetuity entrants' names, user names, likenesses, photographs, voices, home mailing address, biographical and prize information, and entry materials, without notice to entrants and without compensation or obligation, in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world, in any manner whatsoever, to advertise and promote Sponsor, its products and services, the Sweepstakes, and for any other purpose except where prohibited by law.

Maybe I'm being paranoid but the conditions seem to suggest that the contest sponsor is free to use the Winner's info for advertising/marketing purposes forever without any sort of restrictions.

Standard legalese you will likely see in any contest/giveaway/sweepstakes entry, everywhere.

Sponsor has the irrevocable right to use in perpetuity entrants' names, user names, likenesses, photographs, voices, home mailing address, biographical and prize information, and entry materials, without notice to entrants and without compensation or obligation, in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world, in any manner whatsoever, to advertise and promote Sponsor, its products and services, the Sweepstakes, and for any other purpose except where prohibited by law.

This is why we get so much spam, unwanted phone calls, junk mail, etc.. Contests are used to build mailing lists. That's the whole purpose of giving away a prize. It's not worth it.

@mrock12

This concern was addressed previously in this thread and also why we always provide the ability to opt-in for more information, or not.

Those who have entered will appreciate your abstaining sacrifice.
